Introduction to Hand Stamping Metal Jewelry

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of cutting and stamping on metal to create one personalized piece of jewelry. We’ll give you a 1.5” x 1.5”  metal sheet. Have fun stamping out meaningful names, dates, or your favorite inspiring or snarky sentiment. All necessary materials, equipment, and instruction will be provided. We will be working with copper or brass.

By the end of class, you will finish your piece with patinas or any of the finishing techniques taught in the class. you can turn your piece of stamped metal into a necklace, earrings, or keychains. You’ll leave with your new pieces ready to wear and the decision to give them as thoughtful custom gifts or to keep for yourself!  

Included with the class, you will get a guided tour of our contemporary jewelry exhibition, Raices. Showcasing designs by Colectiva Tilde, a group of Latin American female artists.

Can I bring snacks or drinks to the workshop?

Yes, please! We encourage snacks and are BYOB in our workshops.

Can I drop my kids off to stamp?

While we love kids (and they are usually more creative than adults!), we do have an age requirement of 13+ because we will be using sharp tools and chemicals that can be dangerous to younger children.
